Stainless Steel Welded Pipe
Stainless steel welded pipes are manufactured by rolling stainless steel plates or strips into a tubular shape and joining the edges through welding, typically using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), ERW (Electric Resistance Welding), or laser welding methods. After welding, the inner and outer welds are polished or ground to ensure smoothness and uniform wall thickness.
Compared with seamless pipes, welded pipes offer a cost-effective solution, consistent wall thickness, and greater availability in large diameters. They are extensively used in low- to medium-pressure liquid and gas transport, decorative structural work, architectural applications, and in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and marine engineering.
Advantages include excellent corrosion resistance, aesthetic finish, ease of fabrication, and the possibility of very large diameters with relatively thin walls.
